PLANNING AND IMPACT

Strategic Plan 2022-2024

In January 2021 the IOI board initiated a comprehensive strategic planning process to establish goals and operational objectives for FY 22-24. We aim to leverage learning and growth to create a bold vision for our future. We undertook a series of facilitated listening sessions, among the Board and our larger volunteer community, to help create a shared vision.   

As a result, we have five strategic goals:

  1. Cultivate a community of mindfulness practitioners and facilitators equipped to deliver trauma- informed and culturally attuned meditation and mindfulness classes.

  2. Create an intentionally anti-racist organization.

  3. Increase organizational capacity to expand our reach and deepen our impact.

  4. Foster engagement by increasing communication within the organization and with the communities we serve.

  5. Develop a community engagement strategy that supports carceral reform and individual and community healing and restoration.

During FY22 we are focusing on: volunteer membership, board leadership, fundraising, volunteer and program development, and organizational capacity.

IOI Finances

IOI finances are overseen by the Board of Directors with the assistance of the Treasurer. The budget is approved by the Board prior to the fiscal year (October to September) with the Treasurer providing quarterly updates to the Board. IOI is generously supported by individual donations. Our main expenditures are for Fellows from the communities we serve, media consultant; reserves; training; events, and supplies. Complete budgets are available upon request.
